Durban United Basketball Club is a groundbreaking international basketball academy based in Durban, South Africa, created for serious post-grad boys and girls basketball players ages 18–23 who are looking for a real pathway to college basketball, professional basketball, international exposure, and long-term athletic development.

Durban United is not a traditional prep program. It is a full college and professional development basketball clubdesigned to prepare student-athletes for the next level through elite training, competitive games, international travel, college exposure, NIL opportunities, professional league competition, and personal branding support.

As a member of the National Basketball League-Africa, Durban United Basketball Club gives student-athletes access to a basketball opportunity that very few prep, post-grad, or academy programs can offer. Our players compete locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally while developing their skills, building their recruiting profile, and preparing for college and professional opportunities around the world.

A True One-Year Development Program

Durban United Basketball Club is a one-year program commitment designed to give players the time, structure, and competition needed to develop properly.

Instead of a short camp, showcase, or limited-season experience, Durban United provides a complete development year that includes training, games, exposure, recruiting support, travel, film, highlights, campus visits, NIL education, and competition in the National Basketball League-Africa.

This one-year structure allows our coaching staff and basketball operations team to fully evaluate, develop, market, and support each student-athlete throughout the entire process.

Competing in the National Basketball League-Africa

Durban United Basketball Club is a member of the National Basketball League-Africa, a professional basketball league built to create college and professional development opportunities for men’s and women’s basketball players.

Playing in NBL-Africa gives Durban United student-athletes the opportunity to compete in a real league environment with organized games, professional standards, video coverage, player exposure, and international basketball connections.

This is one of the biggest advantages of joining Durban United. Players are not just training. They are competing in a professional basketball league environment while still maintaining the opportunity to pursue college basketball.

Up to 40 Games Per Season

Durban United Basketball Club is built around serious competition. Student-athletes will have the opportunity to play in an extended schedule of up to 40 games during the program year.

Our program includes marketing representatives who assist student-athletes with the college opportunity process. These representatives help promote players, organize player information, support recruiting communication, and assist with building visibility for student-athletes who are serious about playing at the next level.

Durban United does not guarantee college placement, but we are committed to giving every student-athlete the tools, exposure, film, development, and support needed to increase their opportunities.

Professional Basketball Pathway

Durban United Basketball Club also prepares players for professional basketball opportunities.

Because our club is a member of NBL-Africa, players gain experience in a professional league environment. This gives student-athletes the chance to understand the speed, physicality, structure, and expectations of professional basketball.

Players who perform well may have opportunities to be evaluated for additional professional basketball pathways abroad, including opportunities connected to international leagues, overseas clubs, professional development programs, and exposure events.
